Introduction to Wireless Power Transfer principles.
As wireless power transfer (WPT) products freely transfer energy through a medium, this requires general agreements in terms of safety, electromagnetic compatibility, and interference. For this reason, governments or regulatory bodies set limits to ensure the proper functioning of other devices and to minimize healtheffects. To put this into practice, standardization and regulation bodies work closely together. However, because they work closely together and because of the interdisciplinary nature of WPT, misunderstandings can arise between what a standardizing organization does versus a regulatory organization. Therefore, in this section, we aim to clarify both the common standards and the regulations in WPT.
Several types of standards exist in the field of WPT. They can be categorized into (1) application-level and (2) health standards.
Regulations in the field of wireless power transfer are designed to ensure safety, electromagnetic compatibility, and minimize interference with other devices.
Demonstrators play a central role in the DEO project by translating research results into tangible and practical applications. They provide a hands-on way to explore Wireless Power Transfer technologies and help bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world industrial implementation.
